Questions?? How to mount ribbed directional tires?

Half the tread pattern are straight ribs, half angled. Which pattern should face the outer wheel rim?

It can be a tuning aid - putting the angled ribs on the outside generally gives less steering than running them on the inside so in the particular case of those Losi ST tires pictured; way, way, way back in the day, I'd mount mine with the angle on the inner half of the wheel. That being said, unless your track is 1992-ish loamy or they are a required handout/spec tire, you will get more steering and more consistent steering by running a "treaded"/pattern tire on the front. Ribs are from an era that largely doesn't exist anymore.

I picked up the Losi tires for $4 off eBay, so if they dont work out its a cheap toss.. I'm not racing them, I'm bashing at the beach. I'm running a rig simular to the 2wd Slash based Backbajr. I have 2.8" rims on all 4 corners, with 2.8" Sand Paws on the back. All the sand rigs I've seen run a ribbed tire on the front. If you have a better idea for better front sand tires I'm all ears.

Those would be awesome sand tires. Mount the angled part on the inside.

Sounds like fun. Have paddles for the rear?
