Soldering iron
I am going pick up a soldering iron to solder some EC5 and Deans connectors, what watt soldering iron do I need? Or is best?

As a kid, I used something like this:
http://www.homedepot.com/p/Weller-75...0PKS/100143633 Now, I have this one: http://www.trakpowerusa.com/solderin...950/index.html Much easier to hold and precision is easier. |

I use this one alot (sits in my pit bag) and do everything from tx/rx wires up to EC5s with ease, heats up quick for those between heat repairs. I ditched the included tip before the first use and got one that is much smaller.

I just picked up a Trackpower myself. So far it has done everything I could ask for.

That's a lot of power. Is there a power brick attached? Might pick one of those up.

At least a 60W iron with a chisel tip. Any will do with the best being the models mentioned above which are temperature controlled. However on a budget you can get a cheap hobby style iron and manually control the temperature by switching it on for the time you need it and switching it off again while you prepare the next joint. That way the iron doesn't get too hot that it burns the flux in the solder and makes a mess of the next joint.
