lipo charge question
Are there any issues with charging lipo batteries the night before going to the track? I have been told it can cause problems.
I like to have everything packed up the night before. Just wondering. Thanks. |
If I had a nickel for every time this question was asked I would be rich, this questions starts a debate between the ones who do charge before race and the ones who charge the day of the race.
I have never had a lipo go bad from charging the night before, I usually only do it when I'm going to the track for a couple packs of practice but on race days you have plenty of time to charge your lipos |
You won't be able to even see the difference
|
Thanks, that will eliminate a Saturday morning scramble trying to charge batteries and get the boys ready to go to the track.

It's almost like seeing a penny on the ground, are you going to pick up ? Will it make a difference? It's easy to just to do what you have time for

It ever so slightly increases the wear on the battery.. and when you run it, you will be seeing peak IR numbers as well. Battery will be less punchy, and will puff sooner than a battery that has followed better maintenance.

Yep, you can do it, but you are giving up some performance and pack life.
One thing to be especially careful of is temperature changes, that is particularly hard on a fully charged lipo. Don't charge a pack and then leave it in a car sitting in the sun for example. |
