Battery help please?
Hey, guys. I have a couple of questions regarding batteries and charging. Bear in mind the questions I'm asking is for a toy grade RC:
1) I have a 600 mAh battery that's getting me roughly 13 minutes run time. If I upgrade to a 1600 mAh battery, barring the added weight because of the higher capacity, and I run the vehicle the same way as I did before would that theoretically multiply my run time by 2.66 times? If not, about how much more run time would I be getting? 2) The charger I am currently using has an output of 12V DC 350mA. About how long would it take to fully charge the 1600 mAh battery and how long should I keep it on the charger for the initial charge? I'm sorry if these are stupid questions but I am totally new to this hobby and all this is a learning experience for me. Thanks for any help I can get. |

How much is the upgrade? A link to the battery upgrade? Connector type? Would you consider getting a multipurpose charger, good for many applications and battery types including car? NiMH - Nickel Metal Hydride - 1.2 V Cells NiCad - Nickel Cadmium - 1.2 V Cells Litium - LiFe/LiIon/LiPo - 3.3-3.7 V cells Answers: Yes if you have a 600mAh then a 1600 = 1600 / 600 * existing runtime If you have a 1600 12V charging at 350 mAh = 1600/350 hours charge time Post Notes: A multipurpose RC charger can charge a 1600 in less than one hour. A lithium polymer 11.7V pack can be as small as a NiMH and pack over twice the current capacity. You could be over capiltalising your RC model, but then a smiling happy experience is priceless!! |
Smart charger and u are gooood
