I am trying to get into 1/10th scale racing. I found a b4.1 would it be worth getting it if it is only 145 and all it needs is a charger ? i will be running novice to start then i will probably move to 17.5 blinky

That car is also 2 versions old so reselling it may be tough if it isn't in good condition. Knowing what electronics it comes with would also help. Do you know the seller?

I haven't seen it in person yet it is at a pawn shop. From my understanding it has everything i need less a charger so i assume that would mean it has a battery. As far as if it is the FT or the rtr idk.

i went a checked it out it is the rtr so i decided not to get it . im leaning more towards buying a kit now and i will be using the flysky gt3b receiver. any suggestions on some cheaper entry level motors and esc. also what kit would be a good kit to buy. i will be running novice then i plan to run 17.5 blinky

Glad you asked
Is there a particular budget that you are trying to stay under? I know I suggested a kit but the Serpent RTR(still needs battery) is a race ready kit. The issue is that there may not be parts support at your local track.
Have you been out to the track to visit yet? You should check what buggies they do have parts for.

They mostly carry team associated and losi parts. they also have durango and some other brands i haven't heard of. im also trying to make sure im running something that people can help me with setup if i need it. so im leaning towards the 22 2.0 or a team associated buggy. or possibly a sct from either of those two brands

The b5 or b5m or the 22 2.0 are both great kits, and you will have a blast putting them together. As far as budget electronics. The just stock is probably the esc of choice, and then any used 17.5 will work well (and can be had at ½ the price of new). for servos, I prefer savox, futaba, or hitec. as long as it has 125 oz in of torque and at least a .10 transit time.
