Hobbywing XERUN 150a with 1900kv Motor combo. Probably best bang for buck. Note Hobbywing NOT hobbyking!

Don't rule out Castle, they have their new Sidewinder 8 system that is pretty much the same as their 2200kv Mamba Monster system. $150 shipped new on eBay.

And there's nothing wrong with HobbyKing products. The 150a Gen2 Trackstar esc is great, and it works and sounds just like a Castle when calibrating. Also pick up a smart program card if you go this route. If you are already familiar with and prefer Castle products, you will like this esc better than a HobbyWing Xerun.

I have to put in another vote for a Hobbywing Xerun. I actually run the 2.1 versions and I've had 0 issues, but smooooooth power.
