Questions?? what is the 3rd channel action?

I have lights on one of my cars that I'd like to turn on/off from the radio. Does a 3rd channel switch work that way? For instance, I attach the jst to the reciever 3rd channel, then hit the switch, do the lights come on? do they stay on, or do they go out when I release the switch.
(press=on/release=off) or (press=on/press=off)??

Generally a suitable switch should be added to control lights. Something like the PicoSwitch.

Or something fancier like the DELight Controller.
