beginner radio question??
Bear with me I'm new to all this, but very eager to learn. Anyway I picked up an older model Airtronics radio, It's a SR-2P 27 mhz. AM. I wanted to know if I could find a receiver and some servos to work with it?? And if so where can I find them ?

any 27 mhz reciever will work and any servo will work
try your lhs for both

So your saying I can purchase any reciever and it will work as long as it's a 27mhz ? And any servo would work with any reciever? What about crystals is there any speial crystal to be purchased? And last , what do you mean " try you IHS for both." ?
once again thank you Steve.

LHS = Local Hobby Shop.

So thats what it means, thank you for clearing that up fatdoggy. By the way do you agree with steve that any 27 mhz reveiver will work with any 27 mhz radio, doesn't matter how old it is?

Well to be truthful I'm not sure. I would stick to the same brand TX(transmitter) as RX(reciever), only because I'd want to be sure it worked when I got it. What you should do is take your radio to a hobby shop near you and check out some of the recievers, I'm sure they'd take some Rx's out for you and make sure they were compatible. One thing that would stop me from just picking any RX is the fact that novak makes different types of there xxl RX for different radios.
Hope this helps.

I think that on 27 mhz band all works , Im not 100% but im pretty sure. any servo unless you have to old futuba conector will work you may have to change plugs on the end of the servo but again if you have a Lhs that has been around a little while they can help if you buy a new reciever then any new servo will work

can anyone please suggest a fast servo for EP touring?

Airtronics, 94757. Run you around $135 but is a awsome servo. Its metal,BB,Digital,coreless motor, and is SUPER FAST!

Ummm.... cough cough
you don't need to shell out $135, check out some of hitechs servos, they have a good range and you should be able to get a decient one for pretty cheap.

$110 is the actual going rate for the 94757 but you can get a 94357 that will work awesome in touring sedan for around 90 bucks. You see most of the pros using the 357 because it has just enough torque and is plenty fast. A servo like the 757 is too fast and will make your car react too fast and will only get you into trouble.

Once again, Joe rippes me off
I like fast. If I ever had the problem of tooo fast, ide just turn my endpoint or dual rate on the servo
