Default SC10RS battery suggestion

I'm getting ready to get into the world of electric rc, short course racing to be specific. I've decided to get a sc10rs and now my last question is what size battery and how many should I get for racing? I've done a good bit of research on what all the ratings mean. I understand a 5000mah 25c battery will produce 125amps. My main question is what should I get as far as the mah goes? I will be running a 2s battery.

Thanks

2 of anything with 5000 mah, and higher than 20c is great for racing, u can use one for qualifiers, and one for mains, also u will need lipo charger, and be sure to read up on lipo using and taking care of them as well, it will save ya time, money, and headache in the long run...good luck

Thanks, I'm looking at getting a Dynamite Ultraforce DYN4105 charger and I've read a lot of good things about turnigy and gens ace batteries. Are there any other brands that make a good 5000mah+ 2s for under $60?

It's also depends on what charger battery combo your using, I'm using a reedy 5500 60c that I charge at 10amps with a trakpower vr-1 charger, charges in about 22 min. we usually have a little over an hour between heats so I have plenty of time and by the mains it's been cycled a few times and the IR is lower so I get a hair more punch for the mains.
I do keep a couple nano-tech 5800's in the box for practice and just incase some goes wrong with my reedy.

With lipo's for someone new sick to the cheaper end, you should be focusing more on your driving and setup then worrying about having the best batt with the most punch.
Batts come and go but a solid charger can last a long time get something decent, make sure it atleast has a storage mode so you can run it whenever you're done, that'll help tremendously in making cheaper lipo's last longer

Can't go wrong with the turnigy 5800 30-60c mine work great but for me I spent so much on my reedy id hate to not use the piss out of it haha just don't order from hobby king right now they are having much trouble getting them in the country right now and it'll take weeks to get them.

SMC makes quality batteries. And, compared to other race packs are a very good value.

How long can you race on your reedy 5500? I'm going to get some cheap lipos like a nano-tech to go practice on a couple of times before I actually enter a race, then I will probably look into getting a good battery just for racing.

Thanks

+1 for SMC. They are also, as opposed to other brands in their price range, a real U.S. company with real service. Their 2s packs are here: http://www.smc-racing.net/index.php?...ory&path=67_97

In what sense? Like how many race days I'll get out of it or how many minutes of run time?
