Default Glow plug question

I just got a Gas 4tec from a friend who is going back to Iraq in the marines and he gave it to me to race it for him.

Anyway this is my 1st Nitro RC so i have a question

He has it set up to start by pluging in a battery then clicking the little button to heat the plug..well it wont do anything.I was thinking the Glow plug was bad but it was just sitting for about a year and he said it ran fine the last time it ran.

So can a glow plug go bad from sitting?

nevermind..the quick starter was busted...i took it appart and there is a ceramic block in it soldered to the board that was completely busted off..so i resoldered it...problem is..i had to tear the case appart to fix it..now its just a circuitboard with tape wrapped around it...lol atleast it works
