Default Motor Esc Combo for SC10 4X4

Hey guys, I Just purchased a used FT SC104X4 from my LHS for sale board. I was hanging around talking to guys about what they all liked to run in their trucks. A lot of them suggested things that were a little rich for my tastes. What I am looking for is a Cost effective motor esc combo that I can enjoy racing my new 4wd at my LHS. I have been looking at the Castle Site and also the Novak Site where i have been told to look at 550 can motor sizes. Any suggestions or testimonials would be appreciated. Thanks. JONMAN

To be honest Tekin RX8 and the Sc motor would be the best but,you could maybe try the Mamba Max pro combo made by castle.

I have a viper copperhead and it's very cost efficient. It's my back up to my Tekin combo

rx8 and 4pole 4600 redline. Yep they are not cheap, just an FYI, last race night servo tape failed and red motor wire broke off the esc main board. Swapped out rx8 with mmp and no sensor wire, anyways the mmp worked fine and we were able to finish the club race for that night. so yep the mmp should work fine with your application, maybe check out the used section.

Not trying to be short or anything but buy the best you can put in rc's that have high amp draw! I tried to go the cheap way on a 1/8 scale system and am still going to end up buying what I should have in the first place Tekin! There customer service is second to none from what I have heard. In my case right now that would be worth alot because of a chinese esc that went bad frying the motor and nearly batteries! I know that if I try to ship it back to hong kong that will probably just be more money wasted. With that being said however I have ran a hobbywing 60a esc in 2wd shortcourse and would reccommend them to anybody but make sure to buy from someone in the states in case you were to have a problem.

I'll throw in another Tekin RX8/4600 agreement post. Used to run a Mamba Max Pro and switched over to a Tekin setup. Was a night and day difference for me!
