whoops

Just bought a Traxxas 1/16 Summit VXL.
I accidentally plugged a Lipo battery into the truck and ran it for a couple minutes and forgot to change the ESC to the Lipo setting.
It smoked the battery for sure.
I don't have another battery charged right now(Lipo or NiMH).
The ESC is pretty warm to the touch right now.
Did I just destroy the ESC?

Running a lipo past lipo cut will only ruin the lipo, not the ESC.

Well...I might have had a bad ESC then.
I let the ESC cool down for a couple hours and plugged a fully charged Lipo battery in and made sure that the ESC was in Lipo mode...
The ESC lasted about 10 seconds and then let the smoke out(along with a couple sparks).

Called the dealership I bought it from and they are going to replace it for me.(good people to deal with)
I guess it will just be a few days before I get to try this truck out...as I bought the last 1/16 Brushless truck they had in stock.

it may not ruin it the first time, not good for the battery but, i have ran mine past the cut off before and still use it to this day.... not saying make a habbit of it!

Well...it definitely ruined it the first time(Lipo battery and ESC).LOL.

Since I can't drive it...I spent the evening removing decals and installing new ones.
Once I hit 10 posts...I'll put up a pic.
Decals will do for now...but once I get it running and get used to it...I'll be replacing the body with a Ford Raptor body.
