I would say more guys than girls take an interest, but to just ignore things right in front of you is... well just stupid.

There are definitely more men in the sport than women, the same is true for most technical or race oriented hobbies/sports/careers. That doesn't mean they don't exist or aren't interested, just that less of them are.
At our track, my wife races (almost out of novice), another lady races and holds her own in 4wd SC and now 17.5 2wd buggy, and another lady comes in often to race buggy as well and is competitive too. We've almost got another couple ladies that show up with their kids to start into novice, but we're not quite there yet. There are, however, about 80-100 entries that aren't women alongside them though.
So I would agree that it is a "guys" sport/hobby based on the general marketing and interests of the group as a whole, but that doesn't preclude women from it...and some of them, like Drake, have actually done quite well. It is much like saying Nascar is a guy's sport, despite having a couple good women drivers in it. Interestingly, most of the girls that come to be trophy girls for larger races have actually become somewhat interested in it too.

ask famous drivers like Danika Patrick or Shirley Muldownee (who drove top fuel dragsters) if racing cars is only a guy sport
