Blis that is a great list! its on my fridge as well.
great tool recommendations already, but I do have one to add. go to hobbyking.com and you can build a great 30pc toolkit of everything you need for about $100. they sell the hex wrenches for $2 each... they are not the hardest steel, but are a great value. for the tools I use heavily, I have replaced with Hudy's. for many of the tools that get used 1x or 2x per year, Turnigy stuff is just fine.

I have Dynamite and like them, eventually want to upgrade to a set with aluminum handles and removable bits.

I use integy hex drivers, 45 watt soldering iron (get a good one), dremel, baking sheet for soldering, an assortment of screw drivers, a really small straight screw driver I use to clean the dirt from the screws underneath the chassis, toothbrushes and whatever else I can find in my garage that will do the job

Air compressor works well for cleaning too!

Tamiya Rc tool set, should cover all your hardware needs it sells on Ebay or amazon. the whole tool is magnetic so, it really helps in tight spaces.( smaller scale cars.) I might buy another since my parents seemed to toss them away. Thats the last time im wrapping my tools and hardware in a news paper.... If your really on a budget, just get the ones from China. Cant get cheaper than that... Anyways, based on the hudy electric car tool set. You will need hex 2.0 - 3.0mm, solder, solder iron, black double sided tape...( not being biased... but black has the Velcro, and it is more convenient than the See- through tape. dremel( incase you over tighten like me.) Dremel helps for stripped screws in general. Other than that, I would consider curved scissors and reamer for bodys,( if your into modeling...) if not, those I mention above plus phillips + flathead screwdriver. And basically thats all you will need.

I'm a huge fan of Eds Tools, the ones with red handles. They use the same spring steel as Hudy, Serpent, etc. tools and are priced super well.

If you have the money get the limited edition Hudy tool set. High quality, looks awesome, and will last forever.

But that was my point... Eds uses the same spring steel as Hudy for half the price.
