Flysky FSGT3C versus Spektrum DX2.0
#1

I have the chance to get either one of these radios with my used truck i am getting. Which one is better and why?

The Flysky radio has perceptible lag, even it's fanboys have to admit that.

Spektrum for sure. There's just no comparison. Why?
1)The Flysky lags. There is noticeable lag from when you turn the wheel or pull the trigger to when the car responds. See the linked thread. Fine for bashing, not for racing. The lag can cause you to overshoot corners and miss passing opportunities.
2)The Flysky is a "hacker" radio. With lots of different parameters to tweak and lots of different firmware you can load. Sounds great at first, but there's problems with each revision. You might load a version of the firmware that fixes steering expo but then dual rate is messed up in that version. People ship their radios or travel around the country to have other people flash their radios with special firmware. Is your time worth anything? Because you'll be spending a bunch of it chasing down problems.
3)Flysky's are banned. Due to the different firmwares, some versions have bugs that interfere with Spektrum version 1 systems. Because it's difficult to police what versions have the bug and which don't, many tracks will just ban Flysky all together, or they'll let you run until someone reports interference then you have to shut down and are DQ'd. Not fun.

i have got both the MX-3 Sport and 2 x spektrum radios DX3S and a Flysky V2 (i think)
First 2 are brilliant in my opinion and i have nevery had a brown out with spektrum (although it is highly documented that they have problems).
The spektrum is definately lighter.. and better functionality when it comes to naming multiple channels (you can write words where the MX-3 only designates numbers).. spektrum recievers are cheaper and easier to come by.
in saying that... my race cars are using the MX-3 while my toys use the spektrum. The MX-3 feels better when driving.
the flysky was for an experiment with Bolink Legends to see how cheap i can build a race ready vehicle... have not yet used it in anger so i cant comment.
