Default Going from HPI Sprint 2 Flux to Team Associated TC4

Hello,

I'm relatively new to the RC world and made, what I feel, was a $350 mistake that I would like to feel better about. I purchased an HPI Sprint 2 Flux 4WD brushless RTR setup. I typically run my car on the street outside of my house or at my brothers and it is not the best (or even good) condition to run a belt driven 4WD car. I find myself maintaining the car more than driving it. I would like to switch over to a shaft drive 4WD and the Team Associated TC4 definitely has me interested. I've read tons of reviews and forum posts stating it is reliable, well balanced and fun to drive, not to mention upgrade parts are widely available for when/if I need to step it up. Catch is, I want to take the electronics from my Sprint 2 Flux and put them into the TC4 (the feeling better part). The brushless motor that comes with the sprint 2 flux is 5900Kv and the ESC is decent enough. My main concern is, will I have to change anything on the TC4 to handle the motor change? I have no plans to run LiPO with this car, just good ol' NiMH.

Will I need to change gearing, and if so, what do you recommend?
Will I need to upgrade the differentials?

Please give me your thoughts, ideas and concerns.

Thank you in advance

You shouldn't have anything to worry about. I believe you can get metal and delrin ring/pinion gears for the diffs. But I would just shim the diffs to take out as much play in the gears as possible and see how that works.

I would make sure it has steel outdives, the plastic ones probably won't like the 5700 too much.

Would you go with the RTR or Club Racer kit?

You can use all of the electronics from the sprint, so might as well go with the club racer.
