if you got a dremel and a metal sanding tip make a line trhough basically like how a flathead screw is then use a flathead screwdriver to take it off  or a file but that would take soooooooooo long its not even funny

these will work very well, never know when you might need them:

a little spray of liquid wrench would not hurt ether.

only thing is.....

the bolt or screw, whatever it is that is holdling plate on, has very little of a circular part top to get a good grip or a good clamp on, its pretty much drilled in all way, dealer did this and now car isnt running, so not going to have insurace until i get it fixed, but so my registration doesnt get suspended need to send plate into state, until i decide to insure the car..since the screw or bolt is in there very good likely very deeply, do you suggest, somehow popping the trunk or going in car and somehow taking some panel out if needed and hammering screw out a little from the inside of the car? any suggestions will help. thank you.

I would suggest trying to dremel a flat groove in it so you can use a screwdriver (and some liquid wrench) to get it out.

If there just isn't enough there to do that, you can also just drill the head off. Drilling the head off will let you get the plate off easily, but won't help you be able to get the bolt out and be able to use the mount and bolt hole again.

wow really? why didn't you just find and use the right size socket before attacking it with a vise grips:rolleyes::rolleyes:

A six point socket should work, if a standard 12 pointer doesn't.

thanks guys, just wanted let you know again though, i popped trunk and noticed these screws or bolts or whatever they are, are all the way into the metal and theres barely any head on the screw, so will socket set still work or will i need special too...i tried to get little hammer to maybe hammer screw out a little from the inside of the trunk but i cant get back to where it is, too tight of a space...thanks.

racer1812 04-06-2012 04:16 PM

There's nothing "special" about it, a standard socket set is going to remove it. As long as you didn't destroy the head with a vise grip.

thanks man, i appreciate it.
