I live in Aggieland and I'm new to the hobby. Been having fun upgrading my Slash 1/10 2WD. So far I made a couple jumps in the back yard and thrash around in the street.

Just thought I'd make a first post in the intro sticky.
My buddy has been racing for a couple decades and got me into it last month. I used to race BMX, broke too many bones and this RC racing is addictive already after only one legit race.
I have no idea what I'm doing. My head is still spinning trying to understand motor/ESC combos, gearing etc, but I'm hooked.
Picked up a used Losi 22 SCT as my first rig and then grabbed a new one for my boy for Christmas so I let him race mine once to make sure he liked it and now he can't wait to see what Santa might bring
Only upgrade so far is some decent tires for the local clay track.
I do have to say after watching the high end buggies go at it, and watching boy my boy and I slam the Losi into the wall more than once, these Losi's can take a beating lol. It was a smart first choice for he and I, I think.
Hoping to race again this weekend and wrap my head around the upgrades to come.
Cheers-

Hi,
Rich here, and I just wanted to introduce myself. Many years ago I, 25 or so, I built a nice Kiyosho buggy and ran pretty regularly on a really nice indoor track close to where I lived at the time. Having retired recently, I decided to pick up the hobby once again and I am just about starting from scratch. initially, I planned on purchasing an ARRMA Sento to just bash around, but after much lurking, research, and finally getting my hands on one, I decided I really wanted something a little more polished and tuneable. So, I just picked up a nice used TLR eight E 4.0 with updated Tekin electros and have been lurking here researching all of the latest news on batteries chargers, set-ups, etc. It seems battery/electronics tech has improved quite a bit since I was last involved. On the downside, the nearest track to me is about 50 miles away now, so I will probably not get there as often as I would like. We'll see.
Anyway I'm pretty excited and I plan on being around a while helping where I can and asking some newb questions re: set-ups, electro tech (all new since I was last involved) and such,

I have been out of RC world for at least 15 years. My last group of cars where a clodbuster, hpi rs4 rally (when it first came out), stampede, midnight pumpkin, and a losi truggy. Over the summer I got the bug and picked up a DHK Zombie for me and a RedCat terremoto 10 v2 for my nephew. Also bought a few 3s batteries to run them. I just picked up a tt02 Audi kit ( one of my favorite cars).

Hi RCTech,
New here to this forum. I found this great hobby back in 1987. My first R/C was a Tamiya Grasshopper that I bought used and pieced back together. I joined a local RC club in '87 and bought a Kyosho Turbo Optima to race in their 4WD class. Had a blast racing and then decided to buy a AE RC10 and enter it in the 2WD class. Sometime in '88 I bought the very first Team Losi JRX-2 that found it's way to my local hobby shop. The JRX-2 was a great buggy and I won many races with it. Also in '88 I built an RC10 based latemodel and sprint car and raced oval until 1994. Got out of the hobby to take a break and start a family.
After a 23 year break, I found this awesome hobby again! A friend introduced me to 1/10 scale crawling. I bought an Axial Deadbolt truck and went to local parks to crawl on rocks.
I just recently dug out my old buggies form the 80's and 90's and realized how much I missed racing. I bought a used TLR 22-4 2.0 to tinker around with. I stripped it down, cleaned it up and rebuilt it to like new condition. After watching many YouTube videos I decided to buy a new TLR 22 5.0. I'm looking forward to relearning the fast paces of off-road racing and getting back out on the track soon.

Hello all. I am from Orange County California. Recently had some nostalgia of when my dad bought me a nice RC car when I was a kid and remembered how much i enjoyed driving it. Other than my RC car when I was a little kid, I am complete newbie to RC's. Went out and bought myself a Ruster 4x4 (wish i would of bought the VXL model) and also just bought a Losi Tenacity DB Pro. Planning on getting a smaller scale RC to bash in the backyard and eventually a kit so I can learn all the parts and how to assemble and disassemble a car. Plan to go to the local track and maybe eventually get into racing. Excited to be on this forum and absorb all the knowledge I can.

What’s up everybody, new to the forums.. I’m into building onroad/offroad cars and trucks, got into the hobby as an adult. Never competed (except a demo race that I won in the early 90’s haha). Love the scaler aspect, spend a lot of time customising and detailing, but also just bashing with my son.
Thought I’d post some pics, but haven’t found the rules for image sizes and such.. anyway, have a great weekend!
