Default new guy

I picked up a RC 10gt buggy with a .15 engine for $25. I know nothing about nitro engines, It has good compression However I don't have any fuel for it and it didn't come with a controller. so i don't know if it runs.
I removed the head today and it was perfectly clean inside shiny clean not blackened or anything nothing looked damaged, my question is what is dead give away to a fried nitro engine?

you said it has good compression.... also check the rod bushing to see if it has any slop between it and crank.... put it all back together.... check for air leaks by using a piece of fuel line connected to the fuel inlet..... then a piece of fuel line connected to the pressure fitting on the pipe........ hold you finger on the line with the pressure fitting..... blow into the line at the main inlet....while dabbing soapy water around the carb, backplate, head, carb hold screw...... if all looks good.. if the engine is relatively in tune it should run

But anyway one answer to your question..... if you fire it up and it runs fine until it gets up to temp...
then wants to die and wont start till it one dead give away
