I just purchased a sc10 and was wondering what is the top of the line speed controller and bushless motor to get?

Is this for going as fast as possible in the street or for organized racing and if so, what class, i.e. 17.5/blinky, mod, other?

IMO, the top of the racing line right now is the Orion R10 followed by the LRP SXX v.2. Both are smoother, i.e. more drivable, than anything else out there.

For motors, there is, in reality, little difference between 17.5 motors in terms of laptimes in a SC10. The Orion is liked by many as is the Revtech but I've had a continuous good run with a now aging Trinity D3. In other words, the ESC is a better part of the equation to running with your local fast guys in a 17.5 class than the motor.

Tekin RS/RSpro with Revtech 17.5. Smoking fast! If you are staying with stock racing the RS is all you need, but if you plan to move into modified just get the RS Pro upfront.
