taking that further... you can’t make up the time you lost in a bobble or crash. That time is gone and you need to concentrate on racing forward with patience and control to avoid piling on mistakes.

Crashes also lose way more time than your high $ electronics gain you.

You don't need the biggest fastest most powerful motor. You can only go so fast down the straight away before you need to brake, and those tires only have so much grip.

Most fast guys run smaller motors, deturn the power plant or turn it for less power except where they want it. Including smaller pinions and lower endpoints.

bashing and racing aren't the same thing.
You can bash for year and not be ready to race.
But race for years and bash like nothing.

If your kid is color blind don't set his buggy up with bullet connectors the red wire don't help him much. He can see the smoke come out of the ESC though

Do not leave your tx/rx and rc powered on when your 2 year old is running around, if he gets a hold of the remote he will blow up your car lol. Story of my life this evening.

Taking that even further, learn to avoid the trap of thinking more throttle is the solution to another racer being close to you on the track. It's very easy to feel pressured if another racer is pulling up close to you and just trying to go as fast as you can to shake them, or pull up even if they just passed you. Just keep calm and drive your best, and wait for that other novice to make the next mistake so you can take their spot.

Always double check gear mesh.
And never charge lipos the night before and leave them ready to go the next morning. 100% will bloat.

The following tools are also vital, but rarely mentioned:
Shock pliers
Long nose pliers
Side (flush) cutters
Straight and curved scissors
Utility knife (snap off type)
