Default lap counters

How and where can I get a multi-car lap counting system? Will be making my own track. It will be way more fun with a lap counter with all my friends.

AMB is pretty much the standard in lap counting systems. I'm not sure who imports/distributes them, but they're probably pretty expensive with the software and a set of transponders.

Richland Center? that is the middle of nowhere

what kind of cars do you have? (on off road)

I think that bolink is the distributor for amb I can't believe how over priced they are though.

Orions "Pro Lap" is a possibility. http://www.team-orion.ch/products/pro_lcs.asp

Here's the price. - http://www.team-orion.ch/shop/usa/pr...ounting+System

The problem with the orion is that it only counts one car at a time.

Olly, when are you moving?

Default Lap counters

I will be moving in August. I did find a lap counter at the bolink sight ($3600). This has everything I need. It is at www.bolink.com/ambspec.html. The cars I plan on racing are on road touring cars 1/10 scale or 1/18 scale. Richland Center is about 1 hour away from Madison WI and 3.5 hrs from Milwaukee.
I am looking at micro 1/18 scale because of room for the track may limit me. The track will be made of cement board with tennis court paint for traction much like asphalt.

I find it hard to believe that Richland center is only an hour from Madison. Heck, I am an hour from madison and an hour east of richland center. anyway, madison already has a fine on road program, see the MARRCA site on this board. Reedsburg has an off road program with a nice track, though I haven't made it out there to race yet. contact for the Reedsberg group would be Tom's hobbies and crafts in reedsburg. Keep us posted on how things are going. If you get going I might come out and race once and a while. Richland Center looks like it could use some legitimate amusements.
