The upper deck and shocks really helped out the car on the carpet track. It seems to handle the corners a lot better now. It's a keeper. So here are my plans for it:

Stage 2: Drivetrain work
-Front one-way
-Rear ball differential
-Universal drveshafts (4)
-New pinion/spur ratio (Not sure what to go with yet for stock motor)
-Red wheel hexes

Stage 3: Suspension work
-Adjustable arms
-Red hubs/knuckles
-Front/Rear swaybars

And here's my new pride n' joy

Are those red gpm shocks on the tt01 you got from ebay? Do you have an email of that rc shop in ebay?

Unfortunately no. I'm about to go visit my parents for a few weeks and when I come back I plan on getting the front one-way, upper deck and TRF dampeners as well.

Yes, the seller's eBay ID is dinball and rc mall. I believe they're the same source, because I bought my stuff from both of them and both packages came in at the same time, with the exact same packaging style.

well, I hate to say it, guys, but after driving the TB-02 a little bit, I'm a believer.
The suspension is wider and angled differently, so the problem of the rear flying around is almost gone. This is a stock TB-02.

However, I'm not getting rid of my TT-01 just yet. Planning on keeping it for WRC class for next year, since it makes a great drift and WRC car.

But the TB-02, hands down, is the better car.

anyone else racing their TT01?
I would say that the TT01 definitely has a lot of potential. sway bars and other things are required to keep the rear planted... that's the main problem with the car, I think.

Was there any doubt about the tb02?
Keep your tt01. Tamiya will bring out drift tires and Im sure the tt01 is up to the task as a drifter. Maybe I'll try drifting myself after seeing someone at the track use his yoke with drift tires. It was amusing but his motor was too fast. Mabuchi is enough I think.

Yeah, I ran the PVC pipes with my Orion Core stock and the car was difficult to control. I'd get nice slides... and then more better slides... and then *spin out!*

I heard those Yokomo drift tires weren't too good?

Sorry, I mean ABS. I got the ABS pipe and it slides well.

I just tuned my TT01 for drift. Settings:
front and rear blue sway bars.
front blue springs, 50wt oil, extra O-ring spacer in shock
rear red springs, 30wt oil, extra O-ring spacer in shock
ABS pipes
Ford Escort Cosworth body with LED's

Haha, so looks like everyone is moving on. I'm in the process of getting rid of my TT-01, and my TC3 is morphing into a drifter. The TA-05 is still the track car though.

Ey guys, still alive? Anyway, I passed by the LHS last weekend and saw something that caught my eye. It was a box of a tt-01 drift spec Subaru impreza. I saw it on the net but I just wanted to open it. Interesting stuff was the new drift tires premounted that was like the new Yokomo drift tires that are superstiff and without the plastic rings needed. It also had oil dampers, fullbearings, turnbucles, adj upper arms, heatsink and a sport tuned motor. What's missing is the upperdeck and alloy prop shaft. The price was 12800 yen with the tamiya esc included. Not bad in my opinion.
I asked the shop if the premounted drift tires will be available separately but they dont know yet. Would love to convert my evo or my piggie weight tbo2 to a drifter.

I've heard a bit about that TT-01D drift kit, but I had no idea that it would come with adjustable arms! I wonder now what exactly is special about this one over the TT-01R.
