Default discharge trays

i just got a orion discharge tray of e-bay.........can anyone tell me are thes good and how exactly to use it......i put the pack in and the light comes one but it stays on...how long does it normally work for

It is designed to get all cells to the exact same voltage individually, hence equalizing them, the time depends on how much life is in the pack if it take more that five min use a bulb discharger first till the lights just start to dim, or run it in you car till it just starts to slow then throw it on the discharge tray.

This confused me also. I have a thread going in the Offroad forum about batteries and discharging.

The above poster covered it but basically you discharge with a discharger typically to 5.4Volts, then you use the tray to equalize the cells in your packs.
