Will you be running nihms or lipos? A fan for your esc from traxxas or 3racing will do you good as long as you have a channel open on your esc

Mabey a longer motor(can). Lower KV motor on 3s would work good for low temps.

You could try the Castle 4600. I think you could either run 2s or 3s. With 3s it would be ballistic!

i see well right now i am running a 3s lipo on my stock motor and i have a fan on my esc and all i can do is long runs with no stop and goes which sucks. and i can not do any bashing without the car dieing because of motor overheating. so all i can bash with is the stock spur gear with 18 pion which kinda sucks since i like my car go a little faster when playing around.

kind of surprised to hear that-with a 3s and a VXL motor it should be pretty fast-even w/stock pinion/spur. I think you're setup for mainly hi speed runs ie:drag racing and I can see it getting hot. Most likely your only option would be to change gearing if you're looking for jumping, etc. If your stock gears aren't showing wear (which I bet they are) then that would be all I could suggest.

You think slip clutch might not set right because when i switch to 3s lipo i took off the slip clutch. I figure i had to take it off to replace my spur gear so i took it in since i burnt the paddle. On the slip clutch and i think the place i took it in may not adjust it right but good enough to get me by.

Honestly, you gonna have a hot motor running a 3s full speed in any type of off-road. Your gonna get a pretty hot motor running at 50-60+mph on-road. Thts some serious RPMs and watts being pushed there! I think you should gear down a tad, let off the trigger a hair and run it! I think the VXL is a pretty good stock motor. And at a higher KV motor on 3s off road will just get you more heat! Head over to Hobbypartz. Tacons run a bit cooler and faster than VXL's IMO. They just came out with a 3500kv 3660 and 4000kv 3660. The 4000 would turn out more RPMs and more torque at lower temps thanks to the longer can. I think it would be perfect. You'll have to get a 5mm bore, 48p pinion gear. Or get a mod0.8 32p pinion and change your spur gear tp 32p. Whats your gearing now?

i run 86 / 18 for bashing with no problem and the setup traxxas ask for to top out at 70 which is 76/31 now i don't have any problems at all with this setup as long as i do strip runs like out on the beach or something. all i am trying to do is get the most out of my car for bashing then what i have now since i already know if they say it does 45 with the 86/18 setup then i don't understand why my friends son can keep it with my car with his bike lol.

Get a Mamba Max Pro and the 4600 4 pole on 4s! You will fly! Put wings on that car and literally take flight! I can tell you I ran the MMP with the 3800 4 pole motor on 3s and it was crazy in my Hyper TT. I couldnt even open it up all the way.
