Default Charging help

So, I am just getting rolling in the RC offroad area with my son and I am a little overwhelmed with how complex the battery situation is. I bought a lipo battery and a Duratrax ICE charger DC but, I am finding that I still need a balancer and I need a power supply to charge it off AC power. It seems to me that there should be a simpler way to do this. Can someone recommend a straight-forward means of charging my lipo batteries? Isn't there a reasonably priced charger that will do all the above and I can just plug in the battery and hit go?

I have an AC6 charger its ac/dc and will charge a 2cell lipo @ 5amps capable of charging a 6cell lipo @ lower amps of course...it comes with a bunch of goodies and a built in balancer... but some lipo balance plugs are different.

I got it @ hobbypartz on the web

your right most chargers need a power supple and you do need blancer, but most good chargers today have built in blancer in them and lots are plug into the wall. your still going to have to set the voltage you charge at then hit the start button but if your going to be in the hobby you should take the time to learn, its not hard really. yes at first it seems to be, the old nicads and nimhi packs you plug up hit start and wait. with lipos there is a lil more to it.

Ugh. HobbyPartz doesn't have stock and backordered 4-6 weeks. Any other recommendations for where to buy?

These guys run at least 3 diff sites - AC6 is on this one of theirs, but doesn't appear to be on sale -

I can't remember their other site atm....but suspect its no diff as far as the charger is concerned.

I guess you can understand why re-stocking at Hobbypartz doesn't happen quickly.....

I know they operate several sites, and some seem to have a poorer rep that others as far as customer service goes. Maybe query that as well before you decide which one you're going to do business with.
