Greetings
Hello from Canada!
I just took my HPI Rs4 Evo 3+ out of hibernation, cleaned it up and disassembled it, i would like to go through every part and find a much better aftermarket replacement (servos, receivers, tires, engine etc). I would really like to do some rally with this thing. So if you guys know any good ideas for my make to make it sustain much more then the road, my ears are open. Thank you |
Welcome to rctech sorry i dont have any advise for you as i dont know much about the evo but just wanted to say welcome..

i would suggest tearing it down, replace only whats needs it. start running and replace with aftermarket parts only when you need to. also make sure parts are readily available.

its not a bad thing to upgrade, i do it all the time when i dont have to. didnt want to give you the wrong idea. but some upgrades arent worth it, replacing when something breaks lets you know that you made a good purchase!!

ok update on my build, i just finished tearing down the engine with my brother, was pretty fun. Pretty much ordered new all internals, fresh start with new ABEC 5 bearings for the crank shaft. We are gunna do some port work on it with the old piston sleeve as well. Might as well since the i'll be replacing all the old with new. but so far thats it lol.

cool man, you should take pix as you go too. like to see them!

Welcome volksgrenadier, nice car your un mothballin:)
What engine does it have on it now ? Nitro Star? |
The engine i have is called the T3.0 from HPI, its the stock engine, which comes with the stock car. It's a little worn out, but quite sure it could use the refurbishment.
