Default New to 1/10 from Mini Z

Hello, coming from Mini Z i have no idea where to start.

My son and I race mini z and are looking to get into 1/10 tc racing. Ive read a bit on what cars to get and I think im set on Xray cars.

Im looking at the T2 009 and the T3. Is there any benefits going to the T3 chassis? Should we start with the 009 chassis and then move up if we see fit?

Motor selection? Help Is there stock and mod class like mini Z?

Thanks

Best to locate the track(s) near you and find out which classes they run.

It varies a fair bit.

From what I've seen, most places don't run a mod class unless they are hosting a major trophy race.

17.5 is probably the most common motor in North America as it is used in zero timing as well as open esc classes. Where I am though, we have no 17.5 class. Our club runs 21.5 no timing and 13.5 boosted(very close to mod speed), so like I said, it's best to ask at the place(s) you plan to race at which classes they run.

If you're comming from Mini-Z, then you should have no trouble getting setteled into 10th scale. See what classes the club is running, and pick one.
