Default Your biggest mistake!

Well I just thought this might be funny. Post what your biggest mistake you ever made was within the hobby. Let the stupidity flow so others can learn!

I will post mine in a bit. I have to think good and hard about all of mine

Not getting an American brand and getting a car that LHS has no support or parts for..

But I do really like and am very satisfied with my TA05v.2 and Tamiya, I just need to buy everything online for it and wait for shipping!

spending $550+ on an RC8 and electronics only to sell it for $400 a few months later to get back out of the hobby, then a month later deciding I want back in and bought a 1/10th scale 4wd buggy along with a used motor which didn't even work!

Letting my front locknuts strip out and seeing my wheel go rolling on ahead without my car.

getting out of the hobby for 15 years and then just going to my lhs and trying to just pick up where i left off. who knew that a 2wd stadium truck wasnt the fastest thing going.....shoulda done more research instead of impulse buying....spent 300 to get me going, then learned about 4wd 1/8th scale and had to completely start over..........

I cloned a Tamiya Swift I saw from RC Car Action except it was in a Mini Cooper M03. It was Mamba 7700/2s Lipo powered w/all the goodies and I let a "friend" drive it: instant destruction. See if I ever do that again.

Trying to run too many cars on race days and getting stressed about the whole racing thing. 4 cars between my son and I is pushing it for stress levels.

Trying to see how fast my truggy was using one of those side of the road speed check things. Didn't put a throttle return spring on. Carb jammed wide open on the first pass. Not much left of the truggy when it hit that streetlamp a block and a half away!
