The main advantage is sensored motors are smoother on starting that sensorless motors. Since the sensored motor knows where the rotor is at, esc can apply exactly what is needed to get it started.

Sensored motors are usually used for racing and sensorless for bashing where starting is not so important.

the sensored systems seem to have a lot smoother powerband to me. I seem to have more control when applying power. I had a Mamba setup for awhile and liked it, had tons of power but the sensored system is a lot more controllable on the track. If I was just building something to mess with in the backyard I'd consider whatever I could get my hands on but if I'm building something to race it will always be sensored.
