Default Mounting short 2.4Ghz Antenna in RC10T3

Hello,
I have a RC10T3 and I just bought a Airtronics MX-Sport 2.4Ghz Radio.
My question is do I mount the short antenna wire in a antenna tube?
It will only stick out of the body about an inch.
Or are these made to be inside the body not showing from the outside.
If so, do I still use a tube??
Thanks

as far as no you can have either option. you can have it sit inside the body with a short antenna or you can have it sticking out the top. it will have enough signal. i think this is right if anyone else has any input.

I actually use 2 sided tape and coil my antenna wire in a spiral onto the tape. The tape is sitting on top of my receiver. Car works fine that way no problems and the antenna is out of the way of everything else.

Maybe I'm missing something but I've always read that antennas should be straight and not coiled especially the 2.4GHz type. Sure it may still work but the range will be severly reduced.

On the indoor track I have never had an issue, honestly I don't know about outdoors, a couple of the other drives I race with do the same, and none of us have any issues with it.

Just have it upright at least 3 inches, and you'll be fine up to line of sight.

Any farther, and you won't even be able to see the vehicle.

I go shorter (2.5) all the time with NO issues at large tracks.

Do you mean 2.5" to 3" from the chassis? This would put it inside the body. That sounds good and it would keep it neat inside the chassis.
Thank you
and Thank everybody for the responses.

just use the short anntenna tube and have it stick out of the body for the cleanest and most effective look.
