Default gearing for a speed passion version 2.0 speedo

hiya i really need help because i have just got the speed passion version 2.0 speedo for my cyclone and dont no any good/safe gearing for a 17.5 moter cus i have just gone brushless could anyone plz help me my internal ratio is 2.166 thank you

hi mate i got same speedo but in xray t3, my FDR (final drive ratio) is 6.18, and my speedo and SP V3 10.5motor is ballastic and goes quite cool. so i guess you could gear it a litte more hope this helps

If you have not downloaded any new firmware into you ESC, which I think not. Then start at around 4:1 FDR (final drive ratio). Spur divided by pinion times your internal drive gives you FDR. Temp after 5 minutes of running. 150 is safe but no more than 165 degrees. If no temp reader is available then touch the motor with your fingers. You should be able to keep your fingers on the motor for at least 2-3 seconds. I have a SP ESC and SP 17.5 motor and it is around 3.6 FDR. Temps at 130-145. I was just recently told to go down to 3.2-3.3 but haven't tried it yet. I will next time I run the car. Good luck!
