Cigarette Lighter charging
I have a 5 amp DC charger I use to charge my Lipo batteries. I am going to a track with no place to plug in my DC power supply and am thinking about building a cigarette lighter adapter and plugging it into the back of my SUV instead of opening up the hood and using the car's battery. Is there a problem doing that? Why do I see everyone else going direct to the car battery?

I don't see a big problem as well (depending on what your charging).
Generally though, You want the shortest amount of wire going to and from your power source. Like an extension cord the longer it is the less your gonna have at the end.
