If you are a newbie you might have trouble with this. Also you will need lots of $$$ to build your own truck. I would suggest getting a baja 5t or 5b that comes with a 23cc or 5t with 26cc motor (chainsaw motor just smaller). You can also get the kit and build it yourself.

You are in uncharted territory as very few do this kind of build. You will have to fabricate your own motor mount for starters, you won't find one off the shelf. You'd be a little better off if you want a motor that big in going with a 23cc Zenoah like the HPI Baja's use - then you can use some of their parts. You're going to have major probs with power train - clutch, drive axles, trans, slipper, and diffs using parts from anything less than 1/5th scale and that may not be sturdy enough. Good luck

I think you should start with a kit. Build it, run it, then repair it and get some experience that way. Im sure that if you really want to build your own rc car, you can, but is not going to be very fun for a newb. Good Luck.

If you are dead set on a weedwacker engine and want to build your own car get a HPI baja 5b ss kit. I think that gas engines are much more reliable and easy to run than nitro.
