Default RC Virgin...

Hello...

As most people in this Forum, i'm new to the RC world and looking for some assistance. I treated myself to a Traxxas Rustler VXL, runs really well but i'm not sure when and what kind of maintenance i should do to keep it running properly...

Any constructive advice would be much appreciated.

Thanks in advance

check:

wheels nuts before each run
loose screws anywhere
loose battery/esc wires - or they can short
clean off the dirt with a brush

On a regular basis check suspension/steering slop/play, pinon/spur gear mesh, drivtrain tension (everything should roll very freely and smoothly), and differential integrity (broken gears/etc), also check CVD play and freeness.

And everything that HoaRC said.

With those trucks I don't think you need to worry about maintenance. I ran the HELL out of a tamiya hornet and never even cared about whatever happens on the inside. Just be careful about where you crash. ^_^

Compressed air and a brush will be your best friends for a quick dust-off.

Just keep it clean and you should be fine. It's a Traxxas it should run FOREVER.

+1 But also pull out the pins for the front arms attaching them to the bulkhead and clean it. Do the same for the rear except they are going to be screws instead of pins. This way your suspension runs freely.
