Default TC4 - LRP ESC - and LiPo Batteries?

Hi There...

I am new to this on-road thing and I just picked up a TC4 yesterday.

I was curious if the 7.2v 2s LiPo battery packs I have would work with the stock LRP ESC that came with the car?

They worked with my Traxxas Slash stock ESC... just no LiPo Cut-Off, so I had to be careful.

If it does work, can I purchase an independent LiPo cutoff for it?

Any drawbacks?

I have a number of 19t and 27t brushed motors that I just got used off eBay.. I also have a Lathe, so I am going to have to learn how to rebuild them. I am really concerned about motors overheating and burning up, as I have been guilty of that in the past. Any suggestions on Motor combos? Gearing? My motor was getting hot, so I geared it down. I believe it is now a 24t pinion, but it still seemed like the motor was getting really hot after 1 battery pack.

Any other suggestions or upgrades for the TC4 would be GREAT!!! I am totally new to this thing so I need to learn as much as I can..

Thanks in advance!!

Not familar with teh TC4, but as far as lipo working - volts are volts, amps are amps, the esc can't tell any diff. If the possible voltage diff is bothering you - don't let it, when you pull a 6cell pack right off charger, that voltage is as higher as a 2S lipo anyway.

Def buy a lvc - you're one of the more diligent drivers to have not overdischarged a lipo running without an lvc. Here is one, there are others out there -

Only esc it will not work with is your Slash esc. Should be fine with yor LRP.

+1 for the Low Voltage Cutoff.

I had the exact same setup with a 3200mah and ran for 4 min qualifiers and still had plenty of voltage left. I would not run for more that 5 mins on a fully charged pack w/o a LVC...
