Default How to set toe in ?

How do i set toe in on my tc5 my LHS doesnt have any toe gauges ive tried using the camber gauge on its side. I have to lean it against some other type of flat surface since the bottom is up in the air. But is the easiest way ? im not sure if im doing it right and getting proper toe in measurements

first make sure your steering trim is at "0" . make sure your bell grank is straight .. then adjust your steering links and make sure they are equal .. if you have no adjustment tools try this .. stand your car up on its nose . take you camber guagr (lrp gauge ) and set it to your desired degree ...set one side then the other .. start with 1/2 degree on each side which will give a total of one degree .. or minus one degree which ever you desire ... works fine on my tc5 ...

MB Racer you don't add the toe together each wheel must be 1 degree if your set up calls for 1 degree

Also toe out is better for TC

go oldschool and use a tape measure, comparing the difference between the distance between the inside of the wheels front to rear

Toe out isnt god for onroad
Toe out means that your tires are angled ourwards rather than inwards. I wouldnt run anything more than .5 toe out. Or like you all do 1 degree total added together. I run like .5 degree toe in
also If you can Find a Set up Board, thats the best way to set Camber and Toe In accurately.

Straight from the setup kings, Hudy

Toe In
• Increases understeer (decreases oversteer)
• Decreases steering @ corner entry
• Increases “nervousness”
• Makes car more difficult to drive
Toe Out
• Decreases understeer (increases oversteer)
• Increases steering @ corner entry
• Increases straight line stability
• Makes car easier to drive

Easy mistake for people used to 1:1 scale cars as TC is mostly oppersite setup wise

pull the links off, set ur radio to 0 trim as stated above with everythin on. if yoru servo is more than 1/2hr (of the face of a clock) off the position it calls for in the manual. fix it.

moving on, pull out ur manual and get the length AE suggests you build the links to. get a micrometer (even an analog is fine, digitals can be purchased at a freight tool store for cheap too--a tool u'll never part with) and measure it to the specs given. when u have em both right, put em back on the car, makin sure that u put them on with the same orientation at both side so ur adjustments in future are the same (turning forward does this, turning backwards does the opposite). you could 'eyeball' the 1:1 drawing in your manual for a start, but a 'mic' is best.

good luck

Ive never heard of setting the toe out making the car easier to drive but if Hudy says so...cant argue with the top of the line I guess...

For me, front toe out gives the car a twitchy feeling to it, making it transition quickly. (useful for chicanes). Thats how I like to race, providing corner speed is correct, I can make the corner fine. It does scrub the tyres up quite quick though.

Other racers prefer the car to feel a bit more lazy, but with less tyre wear.
