Default Just can't decide....

I have visited my LHS here lately and they have me talked into all 3 of my choices It's between a stampede VXL, rustler VXL, and speed-t. They have parts for all of them (in stock, and fast turn around if not)....noone really races around here but there IS a track or 2 within a couple hours north or east. So yes...racing is a possibility. I am leaning towards the speed t now...I have ALWAYS heard high praise for losi, but same goes for traxxas...just not so much for their racing aspect.

Anyone?

speed t, a great truck. very fast if you get a nice battery in it. i dont like traxxas so i cant say much about it. the speed t is race inspired and has all the regular race parts on it that the xxx-t's have but the tranny. i wouldnt recomend bashing with that transmission on grass but if you wanna, get a new tranny or diff i think.

Speed T has too many problems the rustler imo is the best, then the pede and lastly the Speed T

I am not a fan of losi but i do like some of the stuff

But the weak point are:

Motor protector
Wheelie bar
Diff/spool
Diff gears and the other transmission gears
Tires are not that good
and the fact that it is useless offroad

So if you are a VERY careful driver do nothing other than run up and down the road with the slipper very loose it will been fine IMO

But this is just what i have heard/read

But as you said non of the cars are racing cars

the stampede VXL will be the most durable out of the bunch.

Either way all three trucks have a high powered brushless motor, and is geared for all out speed, so when your at full throttle and you hit something it's going to break. Doesn't matter what truck you get.

I belive that the speed-t has a "trainer" program built in to allow 50% throttle. I'm not to sure about traxxas. I don't know how much RC experiance you have, but it's not all about seeing how fast you can go in a straight line... trust me that gets old.

I think another truck to look at would be the new traxxas slash.

Oh yeah BTW I don't really like Traxxas either, but I bought a Slash because I think Traxxas makes great bashers, and it looks like a blast to drive!

I'm glad that a lot of manufacturers are including a 50% throttle setting in their ESC's I'm going to use this feature to teach my wife to drive the Slash, and see if she's going to like RC (probably not, but I can hope)
