Default Problem, please help.

Hey, im kinda new but im pretty good with this stuff. Ok well im running a VXL-3s esc with a novak 4.5r motor in my rc10t4. Well it all runs fine until right before i pull the trigger full speed and when i do pull it full speed the motor jsut sounds:mmmMMMMmmmmMMMMMmmmmMMMMmmmmMMMM like its only goin as fast as the 9/10 speed. but wheni give off the trigger all the way and give fulll gas quick it goes full speed. The wires were 8 inches so i shortened them to 5-6 inche and same problem. You think it could be the tranny and tires jsut get off balanced? My tires are not on that good cause the full speed really baloons them up. Any help would be nice. Thanks

It's a thought. I had a freind who had some Venom 4200 NiMh with his brushless setup and his car would shudder alot and then go good, then shudder, especially if he mashed the gas. He had to roll on the power. When he tried one of my Lipo's the car had no problem at all.

Give it a shot!

Also my esc doesnt get hot after one full pack but after two its getting there and with the lipo it seams it will get hot so do you think i should get a cooling fan. Should i jsut go with a cheap one from like integy or whatevere instead of spending $25 on the traxxas fan? Actually i am for sure getting one but which one? any suggestions would be nice.

Hey thanks a lot!!!! thats jsut what it does i jsut didnt have a word for it. But thanks. Cant wait till it gets here. I tightened the slipper clutch on my car as much as it goes and it still slip when puttin the throttle on hard. i was thinkin bolten it so there would be no slip but i dont want to keep buyin spurs. Also i have to say this VXL-3s esc is VERY GOOD for how cheap. I got mine brand new for a little under $80. Your saving a $100 if you buy it instead of the novak GTB, plus you got more volts. I here bad things about them but its awesome. Also i notice you live in wahington. So do i, im in Port Angeles. Well thansk a lot for the help !

The integy one should be good enough. Does the Traxxis one have some sort of special mounting bracket for the esc? If so it might be worth it instead of having to rig the integy one on there.

Yeah the traxxas one fits right to the ESC heatsinks but if not what would be the best wya to mount a regular cooling fan?

I think maybe the same way. I have yet to run a fan on either of my cars, so I'm not 100% sure. Maybe try running a smaller pinon gear and see if that helps with the heat.

Did you turn the low voltage off when using NiMh?

Yes i did. Also i pulled out the sensor out off the ESC and ran it. It did the same thing and a think it might of ran a little faster and stronger. Do you know of anyone else who has doen that and had better results? Like he said up there hopefully my lipo will end the problem. Thanks though.
