Check out your local hobby shop.I would say get into a good ready to run (RTR) car. That would mean it comes with everything you need all in one box. Traxxas makes a killer on road car ,check out there web site. The Traxxas Nitro 4-Tec 3.3 1/10 RTR Nitro Sedan is a great first car $340.00.I'm not sure if your into racing down the road ,but if you are ,you buy a kit and build it yourself. You can always find one pretty darn cheap on eb-y too.Btw there are allot of peeps here that do want to help out the new peeps. I would say they don't look at this thread enough ,anyway good luck ..

i would say if you were planning on racing go to ur lhs and see what cars other people r running. it makes it alot easier if you have someone to help with setup and repair....

don't b afraid of the racing scene either, because 98% of the guys r supper cool and very helpful (they might also have a car for sale cheap)

i started the hobby years ago and bashed around lots being afraid of being welcomed or in the way of the race crowd, but when you get to talking to the people you learn setup and how to make a car handle (harder than you think) and then it gets really enjoyable.

also everywhere you go you will meet one person who raises cain about new guys being in the way...........dont mind him, he is just looking for an excuse why he isnt in first..

go have fun its what its about, and may the force be with you.
