From my understanding a ball diff lets the outside wheel spin faster then the inside wheel going through a turn. An adjustable ball diff lets you adjust how much slippage you have me and a one-way is a locked diff but when you use the brakes it keeps spinning. Thats just a rough idea of what they are.

a one way is for a free flowing tracks with minamul and what it does is it has a bearing in it which is a ball bearing that locks up going in one direction and acts like a ball bearing.

A spool or a solid axil is for tight tracks with small straights. This helps you spin the tail out in the corner.

I personaly hate having a diff in the front

from wat i understand a ball diff up front is popular for foams on carpet.

Due to foams wearing unevenly easily I would never suggest using a spool with them as they will stress the drivetrain, always use a diff up front if you are running foams.
