Newbie Needing Some Good Advise-Radios
Hey All!!
Getting back into r/cing after about 20 years...need some help and I'll post seperate threads to keep the topic discussions easy to follow.
First, what is considered to be a great pistol grip radio? Been reading all kinds of stuff on multiple forums and checking manufacturer sites, but I want to hear it from the people that use these products..
I've been reading about three different radios:
JR XS3 Pro Synth
Futaba 3PKS
Spektrum DX3
Can someone give me a good rundown on these or at least what they have currently? pros and cons? thanks guys!
Mike

Tech Adept
You should probably include the Spektrum DX3R in the list.

Tech Adept
As well as the M11

Tech Master
as well as Futaba 2.4 FAAST. They all have ability to scan different channels so glitching is kept at a minimum, all have model memory, some have timers for lap speeds and give warnings when batt level gets low, backlighting. I think they are all good.

I love the look of EX-10 Helios C2, function wise don't know haven't tried one
Im using Sanwa M8 much better than my previous TX (3PK Futaba)
I will not advice Sanwa M11, Its better to buy Sanwa M11R much better
But since you have limited selections, and based on your selection list, I will go for "Futaba 3pks"

I use a helios as well. Good weight distribution and the dropdown makes it a very comfortable radio. But my next choice would be the 3pk or the m11

spectrum dx3 is the same as jrxs2 same menu case and sounds and functions but no abs
spectrum 2.4g no abs 4 model memory
jr xs2 tunable freq radio clash no abs
futaba 3pk 2.4g able abs lots of model memory bit pricey but very nice to use
all 3 sit in hand well
if you want to spend a bit more go nomadio and charge from your computer, as well as telementary, and mapping of handset to suit you.change reaction time and speed it also is twice as fast as spectrum at 100 gig per second.spectrum is 50 gig per second
just a thought

The Futaba 3PK Super is an awesome radio, especially when equipped with the 2.4gHz FASST System. Should be able to pick one up used or new for that matter at a fairly good price with the new 4PK coming out.
If these are more then you want to spend then I suggest the 3PM, plenty of model memory and features and comes with the 2.4gHz FASST system built into the radio.
