Default New Guy needing help.

Im new to the RC Nitro world, i bought a traxxas nitro rustler the other day. it seemed to be running fine for a while but now it only turns to the right. and once the wheels are turned it wont turn back. Nothing seems to be broken and when you turn the wheels by hand everything else move as its suppose to.... what could be the reason for this?Thank you.

hmm... check your steering alingment knob on the radio. you might have knocked it and it moved to the right... also check the servo horn hasn't slipped, my firestorm stripped the screw thread in the servo, and the horn kept falling off. i just glued it backon and it was fine. also, try swapping the steering servo with the throttle one or a spare. it could be you stripped a gear inside. theres alot of possibilites, but try these first.

this is funny!!! i was trying to imagine the car running this way and
but seriously, joe's tip should be a good starting point in checking your car.
it probably is the steering trim adjustment knob on your radio. i'm assuming you're using the TQ3 that came with it.

Did you hit something before this happened? Check to see if something is bound. If you can turn it back to center by hand without force and hearing a crunching sound. Then turn to the right, if it doesn't return to center the gears are busted or servo circuit toast and it can't recenter.

If they put $100 high torque metal geared servos in every RTR The prices would sky rocket and the kits would never sell now would they KThatcher?

I hear what you're both saying, it would be nice for a happy medium though, some on road servos I have seen in the past would have difficulty turning a sheet of paper, let alone a pair of wheels.

It is hard to strike a balance between cost and durability sometimes, thats all im saying.

Although funny its sad what some kits come with. You hit the nail on the head with your comment tc3team. Also I'd like to ad RC's have improved greatly over the last 20+ years. I also remember having some RC's that couldn't turn unless the thing was moving. Not being able to turn a sheet of paper is a priceless analogy.
