LRP.. Good ESC?

I'm thinking to buy LRP F1 Pro reverse ESC. Has anyone ever use it or using it now? What do you guys reckon for Reverse ESC to run 9T motor?
Any input is well appreciated.

The Lrp pro reverse has no motor limit so yes you can run a 9T. I wouldn't encourage extended running in reverse though. Although I don't think it mentions it in the manual you can change the esc to fwd/brk by holding in the setup button, turning on the esc and holding it for around 3 seconds.

Why its not encourage to run in reverse?

Mod motors usually run with positive timing, To be perfectly honest I don't have my head 100% around this yet but, the postive timing makes the motor run faster but lowers efficiency. So when the motor is run backwards it will put more wear and tear on the motor because the timing had been set for going foward(positive timing). The trinity speed gems mod motors come with 0 degrees of timing set so they can be run in reverse and be fine. I don't know if you can change the timing on competition mod motors down to 0 degrees though. Granted you can still run a mod in reverse and have it be ok but it will put more strain on the motor.

I recently acquired a LRP Runner, so I had to go looking too. :D

According to LRP, the Runner is "recommended for 16+ turns, but there is no max motor limit". The ESC has self-protection, so supposedly even if you use hotter motors it should not damage it permanently - it'll just shutdown temporarily if its overloaded.

Seems to work pretty well, with all its THREE FETs...

Old LRP.......

I have an older LRP(approx. 5 or 6 years old).....I believe it is an LRP ICS. I still have all the paper work on it but no where does it mention if I can run anything other than a stock motor. I am running a Reedy Sonic motor that that is the same age and I believe is stock. It has a little sticker on it with an "S" so I am assuming that means stock. Any ideas if I can run a mod motor? If so how High can I go?

Your manual should tell you that the ICS-Digital (the one with the plug in current-limiter chips?) can handle "any motor", however there is no mention of any Temperature Protection feature.

If you don't have a manual, go here: LRP Manuals for Download!

It does say that the ESC can do 75A continuous, and 115A for 30 secs. ESCs with that kind of current capacity today are usually rated around the 15-turns mark. If you gear your car conservatively, you can probably go a bit lower maybe.

You can also email LRP direct to ask?
