Default How are recievers compatible with transmitters?

i have a 75mhz transmitter...would this mean it would work with all 75mhz receivers? or does it depends on the brand as well?

all 75mhz ones that operate on the same mode (AM or FM) and with the same crystals in should work. i even found an old nikko controller that worked with my firestorm's radio gear!

There's "positive shift" transmitters (Futaba and Hitec) and "negative shift" transmitters (JR, Airtronics, Multiplex, KO).

Each type should work with each type's receiver, but don't count on it.

Why are you asking?

I have a related question...I have a mini-t rtr and I want to replace the dissapointing radio. I want to get something that will last me through other models. I was thinking about getting a hitec. 75mhz or 27mhz? Does this mean I have to replace the speed control and reciever? I know I probably should have just got the pro version, but alas I am a newb. Thanks

Red face 27 AM

your truck should be a 27 AM

Which means ANY 27 AM radio should work if you want to go with the stock electronics.

see if a buddy has an old radio from a RC18 RTR package. they're not the greatest, but it's an upgrade from what you have IMHO
People practically give them away.

all 27 AM recievers and radios work together.

FM 75 radios and recievers need to be matched for type, like he said in the above post. Futaba with Futaba, Airtronics with Airtronics.
