Default MC-59 and A5 Question

I have an O'donnell head on my O.S. 12cv, it says that the MC-59 glow plug is longer than the standard A5, is the A5 long the same length, or do I need to go with a Mc-59? I know noob question.

Default MC-59 and A5 Question

I like the MC59's better than the OS plugs, because the coil element is bigger on the Mc Coy plugs and they idle better. As for the length, there are really only 3 types used in R/C Cars.

1) Standard Short (Most Sport engines)
2) Standard Long (Most .12 Race engines)
3) Turbo plugs (.21 Race engines and .12 Turbo engines)

There are a few exceptions but most follow the above rules.

I've used MC59's in my OS engines with no problems ever.

I believe the MC-8 is a colder plug than a MC-59, I might be wrong though.

turbo you have to use the mc-59 with that head. the hold for the glow plug is deeper and a standard A5 will not extend deep enough into the combustion chamber to get a good spark.

Stick with the 59 they are great plugs for off road. i ran only 2 in my Gt all last year.
