Default .12 Novamega proper op. temp

Hello,

I am trying to tune my motor, it is still spewing out blue smoke. But its already around 270F. Is this ok? I take the temperature after I romp on it a few times. It has even reached low 300's. I live in SF. Any tips would really help thank you.

Default Temp

As you probably know there is no set rule as to what temp an engine runs at but 270-300 is a little warm. Have you richened the engine to see if the performance drops? I would run a little richer and see how it acts then. I run a top .12 and it runs harder than I want at 230-235. Also how old is the engine? My Top ran approx 25 degrees warmer during the first gallon to gallon and a half than it does now with the same performance.
