Default Discahrging NI-MH's

Hi,

I'm about to get some GP3300's and was wondering if it is necessary to discharge them at a high amp rating (20 - 30) after a race (or any time for that matter). Ive got a Trinity Real Time 2 tray but my batteries get very hot on there if i keep them in for a long period of time and I know that ni-mh don't like heat.

Thanks
