Unobtainium is just a term the r\c industry (AE) came up with for titanium carbon nitride coatings, or TICN. This is a very hard industrial coating that Associated uses on ther shock shafts. It is grey in color, not to be confused with the gold stuff on other shock shafts which is titanium nitride (TIN) without the carbon added and is not as hard or wear resistant.
