Default newbie to lathes??

just looking for some pointers on where to go with the lathes i.e which is a good quilty lathe for some one who has never used a lathe or cut a comm and cheap in price?

Okay, this question always seems to get posted on the forums, so please use the search function, saves you a lot time.

As for lathes and being totally new to doing it, I would recommend asking someone at your local track or hobby shop who can and is willing to do it for you for a small fee of course. But if you want to learn how to do it, check out the article on www.rc411.com webiste, and look under the "How To" section. As for quality of lathes, the ones that alot of people have is either the Hudy, Team Orion, etc, and they usually price around the $150 range new. Check out the For/Sale Thread here to see if anyone is selling any second hand.
